The Scholarship Fund

The Scholarship Fund was established by the Eggerts Crossing Civic League to promote higher education. Each year the fund awards $1,000 scholarships to two high school seniors enrolled in college. The scholarships are awarded to students who have shown outstanding leadership skills and service to the community. Since 1979 ECCL has awarded over 99 scholarships.

A Vision For Eggerts Crossing

In 2002, ECCL invited graduate students of Rutgers University’s
Bloustein School of Planning to develop “A Vision For Eggerts Crossing” as part
of their academic studio class. The students provided an analysis of the
community and presented it to residents. The development of the final “Vision”
involved 40 to 50 community residents, township officials and more.

Eggerts Crossing Village

Eggerts Crossing Village (ECV) is a residential community
located on 25 acres at 175 Johnson Avenue in Lawrence Township, New Jersey. ECV
was the first subsidized family rental housing development in Lawrence. In
1968, a group of Lawrence Township residents gathered to plan for affordable
housing in their community.

Through The Years

2010 ECCL once again celebrates Arbor Day by planting a tree,
this year at Heritage Park. The League has recognized Arbor Day with tree
planting activities every year since 1996. 2008 ECCL applied for and received
permanent 501 ( C ) 3 non-profit organization status. ECCL organized a
successful spring gala.
